Alright, so I grabbed these DICKIES seat covers for my Subaru Forester’s backseat, which is basically a war zone thanks to my kids and their car seats. For $25, I wasn’t expecting miracles, but here’s the deal:
The Good: The fabric feels sturdy—like, ‘can probably survive a juice box explosion’ sturdy. It’s not a custom fit (obviously), so there are some wrinkles, but honestly? Still looks better than the crumbs and mystery stains it’s hiding. The elastic straps keep it in place, and the airbag-friendly design is a nice touch. I only had to cut one hole for the car seat latch, which wasn’t a big deal.
The Not-So-Good: Some folks complained about seams ripping because it fits too tight. Mine hasn’t ripped yet, but I can see how that might happen if your seats are chunkier. Also, the headrest covers are kinda meh—I didn’t even bother with them.
Verdict: For the price, it’s a solid ‘good enough.’ It won’t win any beauty contests, but it saves my seats from kid-induced destruction. If you want perfection, spend more on custom covers. But if you’re cheap like me? Worth it.
