As a dog owner who's tried multiple potty training solutions, the GLOBREEN Fake Grass Pee Pad initially impressed me with its realistic look and feel. My 8-month-old Labrador took to it immediately, which was a relief after struggling with traditional pee pads.
The thick, 1.38" pile height makes it comfortable for dogs to walk on, and the high-density artificial grass truly mimics outdoor turf. I particularly appreciate how easy it is to clean - just a quick rinse with water removes most odors (though there is an initial plastic smell that fades after a few days).
However, I discovered some significant drawbacks during use. The biggest issue is the poor drainage system. Unlike some competitors' products, urine tends to pool on the surface rather than draining through properly. This leads to messy paws and requires more frequent cleaning than advertised.
The size (34" x 23") is generous for the price and works well for medium to large dogs. I use mine on my apartment balcony with an additional tray underneath (which isn't included), but even then, leakage can be problematic during heavy use days.
While it's marketed as both indoor and outdoor use, I'd recommend this primarily for outdoor spaces or temporary indoor situations. For permanent indoor use, you'll definitely need additional absorbent layers beneath it.
Overall, it's a decent product that gets the job done with some modifications, but don't expect perfection in terms of drainage and odor control.
