Okay, so I just finished 'Second Chance Secret' and wow - this book had me in a CHOKEHOLD! The whole rich boy/poor girl dynamic? Classic but done SO well here.
That scene where Anna first sees Cole again after years? I literally gasped out loud on my lunch break. The tension was THICKER than my morning smoothie.
What really got me though was Henry's storyline. As someone who's been through family illness, those hospital scenes hit HARD. The author really captured that mix of grief and hope perfectly.
And can we talk about Cole's mom? WORST. VILLAIN. EVER. I wanted to reach into the book and shake her! But that made the happy ending even sweeter when it finally came.
The secret baby trope isn't usually my thing, but this one worked because Anna was such a strong character. Girl was out here raising a kid AND dealing with Cole's messy family - queen behavior!
Only complaint? Some parts felt a tiny bit rushed. Like I needed more of those flashback college scenes to really feel their original connection.
Overall? 4.5/5 stars from me! Perfect for when you want something emotional but still romantic. Just keep tissues nearby for Henry's parts!
