Okay, so I grabbed this book as a 'soft launch' into my CPA prep—been out of school for ages and needed to dust off my study brain. The chapters are snackable (love that), and the answer keys actually explain why an answer is correct instead of just throwing a letter at you. Major plus.
BUT. It’s like using training wheels—helpful for wobbling back into the groove, but you’ll faceplant if it’s your only resource. The 2014 publish date shows (exam topics have shifted), and some sections feel like reading a dictionary crossed with a caffeine-deprived professor’s notes.
Still, zero regrets! Shipping was faster than my motivation to study, and the Kindle version lets me sneak in pages between subway stops. Just pair it with Roger/Becker unless you enjoy stress-crying over outdated tax regulations.
TL;DR: Solid warm-up lap. Not the race.
