I recently took the XBLACK Fishing Lures Set out for a spin, hoping to land some big bass and trout. The set includes five lures with realistic 3D eyes and sharp rust-proof hooks, which initially got me excited.
First impressions? The lures look great—vibrant colors, detailed design, and the BBS sound beads inside make a subtle noise that should attract fish. However, in practice, they didn't perform as well as I'd hoped. On a private lake where I usually crush it with Berkeley flicker shads, these lures didn't even get a nibble. Switched back to my old trusty, and boom—fish after fish.
That said, I didn’t give up. Tried them in another lake, and still no luck. Maybe it’s the smaller size (they feel more suited for panfish or crappie) or the swimming action not matching local preferences. But hey, fishing is unpredictable—what flops in one spot might shine elsewhere.
For the price, it’s a decent set to experiment with, especially if you’re targeting varied species. Just temper expectations—these aren’t magic bullets, but they might surprise you under the right conditions.
