If you're looking for a practical, easy-to-use anti-choking trainer, the Act Fast AF-101-B is a solid choice. I've used it in multiple first aid classes, and both students and instructors love it.
The adjustable vest fits most body types comfortably, and the latex-free, lead-free design ensures safety during practice. The best part? Students genuinely enjoy 'saving' the dummy by performing abdominal thrusts—it adds a fun element to serious training.
That said, it's not perfect. The foam plugger pops out with less force than a real Heimlich maneuver requires. While this makes it safer for practice, it doesn’t fully replicate real-life scenarios. The air tube also sticks out a bit too far, breaking the realism slightly.
Despite these minor flaws, it’s an excellent visual aid for teaching anxious parents or new learners. The vest’s length can feel awkward on shorter torsos (common in our mostly female classes), but adjustments help.
Bottom line: For the price and functionality, this trainer delivers. It won’t replace high-end medical simulators, but for CPR/first aid classes? Worth every penny.
