Okay so I impulse-bought this book after getting my first betta fish (RIP Bubbles 2021) and WOW I wish I had it sooner!
The nitrogen cycle explanation saved me from making my tank a toxic soup. Like who knew fish poop could be so complicated? The diagrams make it actually understandable though.
What I love: The plant section is GOLD. It tells you which plants won't die when you inevitably forget to turn off the grow lights for 3 days straight (been there).
Small complaint: Could use more pics of different tank setups. I'm visual learner who needs aquarium inspo!
Pro tip: Read this BEFORE buying fish. Would've saved me $40 in dead guppies during my 'trial and error' phase *facepalm*
Final verdict: 4.5/5 - Perfect for clueless beginners like me, but experienced keepers might find it too basic.
