I recently used these survey stakes to mark the boundaries of my property, and I must say, they're impressively sturdy. The hot-dipped galvanized steel feels like it could withstand years of weather abuse without rusting. The bright orange tops are super visible, even when the grass starts to grow around them.
Installation was a breeze—I just pushed them into the ground by hand, and they sat flush with the surface. No tripping hazards here! I love that I can mow right over them without worrying about damaging my lawnmower or the stakes themselves.
One thing to note: don't use a regular hammer to install these. The packaging clearly warns against it (the paint will chip), and I appreciated that attention to detail. A rubber mallet works perfectly though.
While they're not super long (about 6.5 inches), they're perfect for temporary markings or areas where you might need to relocate them. For permanent corner markers, I'd probably go with something more substantial like concrete with rebar, but for general property line marking, these do the job beautifully.
The fact that they're made in the USA was a nice bonus for me—it's always great to support domestic manufacturing when possible. All in all, these are quality markers that should last for years while maintaining their high visibility.
