Just finished 'Butterfly Kisses' and wow, Patrick Logan knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat! The pacing is relentless—I literally lost sleep because I couldn't put it down.
Detective Damien Drake is such a flawed but fascinating protagonist. His alcoholism adds layers to his character, though I do agree with some reviewers that it sometimes feels overdone. Still, his dynamic with rookie Chase Adams is electric.
The serial killer's MO? Chilling. Those bloody butterfly motifs and caterpillars in victims' mouths? Logan's medical background really shines through in these gruesome details.
My only gripe? That cliffhanger ending! I need Book 2 immediately to resolve all these unanswered questions. It's frustrating but also brilliant marketing—I'm absolutely hooked on this series now.
The cover art is stunning too—definitely one of those books that catches your eye on the shelf. If you're into dark police procedurals with complex characters, this is a must-read.
