Okay, so I've been using this Yeacomm router for about a month now, and let me tell you - it's been a wild ride! First off, the setup was... interesting. The instructions might as well have been written in hieroglyphics, but hey, we got there eventually.
The GOOD: This thing actually works! I'm in a rural area with terrible reception, but with two external antennas pointed just right, I'm getting decent speeds. It chews through my T-Mobile data plan like nobody's business (RIP my unlimited data dreams). The WiFi range is surprisingly good - covers my whole house plus the backyard where I pretend to garden.
The BAD: That SIM card slot is a NIGHTMARE. I nearly threw the router across the room trying to get my card in. Pro tip: use the mysterious metal tool they include (but don't explain) or just sacrifice a credit card to make your own tool.
The UGLY: Security? What security? The root password is 'admin' and can't be changed. I found this out after doing my own port scan (because apparently I'm paranoid now). Would I trust this with my banking info? Heck no. But for streaming cat videos and checking emails? Sure why not.
Final thoughts: It's cheap, it works better than expected, but treat it like that sketchy cousin who always has 'great business opportunities' - useful but don't trust it with anything important!
