Okay, so I finally caved and bought these JBL Tune 770NC headphones after weeks of debating. First off - the noise cancellation? Magic. Like, 'suddenly forgetting I have roommates' level magic. The adaptive feature actually works better than I expected for the price.
The battery life is insane. I've been using them for three days straight (yes, I have a problem) and still haven't seen the low battery warning. That speed charge thing is legit too - 15 minutes gets me hours of playtime.
Sound quality surprised me most though. Coming from cheap earbuds, hearing details in songs I've listened to for years was wild. That JBL Pure Bass isn't just marketing speak - it's crisp without being overwhelming.
Comfort gets an A-. They're lightweight and the padding is nice, but after like 4 hours my ears do get a bit warm. Not dealbreaker territory though.
The app? Game changer. Being able to tweak EQ settings means I can go from podcast mode to bass-heavy workout jams with two taps. VoiceAware feature makes taking calls way less awkward too.
Only real complaint: The ear cups could be slightly bigger. My ears aren't huge but they do touch the edges after awhile.
For under $100 (got them on sale), these might be my best purchase this year. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for quality without breaking the bank.
