I was really excited to try out the Dan&Dre Billiard Auxiliary Sight Collimation Training Device. As someone who's been trying to improve my pool game, the idea of a tool that could help with accuracy and eliminate visual errors sounded perfect.
Right out of the box, I hit my first snag - there were no instructions included. For a device that's supposed to help with precision, it's ironic that they couldn't be precise about how to use it. The laser component needs a battery, but guess what? No mention of what size battery it requires.
After reading other reviews, I discovered this seems to be a common issue. People mentioned needing some obscure battery size that you can't just pick up at your local store. That's when my excitement turned to frustration. Why would they sell a product without including such basic information?
The final straw was realizing the device doesn't even come with proper attachments for different cue sizes. Some reviewers mentioned it didn't fit their cues at all. For something marketed as 'widely applicable,' this seems like a major oversight.
While the concept is great in theory - helping with alignment, correcting stroke errors, and being beginner-friendly - the execution falls flat due to these practical issues. It's disappointing because this could have been a really useful training aid if they'd just included proper instructions and standard batteries.
Unless Dan&Dre addresses these basic functionality issues, I can't recommend this product in its current form. Save your money or look for alternatives that actually come ready to use.
