Okay, so I finally caved and bought the Whynter ICM-200LS ice cream maker after seeing all the hype... and WOW, it actually lives up to it!
First off - no more pre-freezing bowls?! Game changer. I can make ice cream whenever the craving hits (which is often). The built-in compressor is magic - just pour in your mix and press start.
The texture is INSANE. Like, better-than-most-ice-cream-shops good. Made some vanilla bean last night that was so creamy my partner thought I'd bought it from some fancy artisanal place.
Cleanup's easier than expected too. The removable parts pop right off for washing. Pro tip: scrape out your ice cream immediately though - it gets harder to clean if you wait.
Only downside? It's a beast size-wise. Had to rearrange my counter space, but totally worth it when I'm eating homemade mint chocolate chip at 11pm.
10/10 would recommend to any ice cream lover. Already planning my next batch with fresh peaches!
