I've been using the YI Pro 2K cameras for a few months now, and they've mostly been great. The 2K resolution is legit – I can actually read the tiny text on packages left by my door. Night vision works well in my dimly lit hallway, though sudden light changes (like car headlights) do confuse it momentarily.
The AI detection is surprisingly accurate. It correctly identified my neighbor's cat as an 'animal' while ignoring swaying tree shadows that used to trigger my old camera constantly. I do wish the notification system was smarter – sometimes it still pings me for minor movements even with sensitivity turned down.
Setup was painless, though I initially struggled scanning the wrong QR code (pro tip: use the one in the app). The two-way audio is clear enough for quick check-ins with my dog, though he mostly just cocks his head at the camera like I've lost my mind.
My biggest gripe? The cloud storage pricing feels predatory. I'm using an SD card instead, but managing footage manually is annoying. Also, that brief ad when opening the app? Super jarring when you're rushing to check a late-night alert.
For basic home monitoring though, especially at this price point for two cameras, they're hard to beat. Just go in knowing you might want to budget for cloud storage or invest in large SD cards.
