I've been using the Schott SF-6 HT Radiation Safety Glasses for a few weeks now, and they're a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, they do their job well—protecting my eyes during procedures. On the other, they come with some quirks that might not work for everyone.
The first thing I noticed was the weight. They look heavier than they actually are, but after an hour or so, you definitely feel the pressure on your nose. It's not unbearable, but it's noticeable enough to make me wish for better padding or a softer frame.
I love that they fit over my prescription glasses without much fuss. The sightlines are fair, and I don't have to squint or adjust them constantly. The rubbery frame is a plus—it’s lighter than hard plastic and feels less likely to snap if dropped (though some users mentioned breakage, so I’m still careful).
The side shields are permanent, which is great for full protection but makes them a bit bulky. They’re not the most stylish, but hey, safety first! The included soft case and lens cloth are nice touches, though I agree with others—a neck strap would’ve been handy.
Overall, these glasses get the job done without breaking the bank. If you can handle the nose pressure (or mod them with silicone pads), they’re a solid choice for radiation protection.
