Let me start by saying the Eshopps EZ Feeder is a game-changer for feeding time in my aquarium. The slow-release design is genius, especially for frozen foods. My fish now gather around it like it's their favorite restaurant, and watching them eat has become way more entertaining.
The magnet system is hit or miss though. On my 10mm glass tank, it holds fine, but I've heard horror stories from friends with thinner glass where the feeder just slides right off. The rubber padding helps, but Eshopps really needs to offer different magnet strengths.
Where this feeder shines is with bottom-dwelling fish. Being able to submerge it completely means my shy loaches finally get their fair share of food without competing with faster swimmers at the surface.
The single water inlet does cause some issues though. If your tank flow isn't perfect, food can get stuck inside instead of dispersing evenly. I've found rotating the feeder periodically helps, but an additional inlet would solve this completely.
At its price point, I expected better quality control. Several reviewers (myself included) received units where the magnet detached immediately. While customer service handled refunds well, this shouldn't be happening on a premium product.
For reef tanks - be cautious! The exposed magnet can be dangerous for sensitive corals if placed incorrectly.
Bottom line: When it works, it's fantastic. But you might need to tweak your setup or even modify the product to get optimal performance. Worth trying if you have persistent feeding issues, but temper your expectations.
