I've been wearing this Mowbeat varsity jacket for a few weeks now, and it's become my go-to lightweight layer for crisp fall mornings. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly soft the material is - it feels like broken-in cotton but has that classic baseball jacket structure.
The sizing threw me at first. I usually wear a medium, but based on reviews I sized up to large, and it fits perfectly with room for a hoodie underneath. The snaps are satisfyingly sturdy when closing the front, though I mostly wear it open for that casual slouchy look.
Don't expect warmth though - this is strictly a style piece. I wore it to an outdoor football game when temps dipped to 50°F and definitely needed layers underneath. The pockets are deeper than they look - my phone doesn't fall out when I bend over, which is a win.
After three washes (cold water, air dried), the colors haven't faded at all and there's no pilling. It's held up better than some of my pricier jackets. Perfect for throwing on over jeans or pairing with joggers when running errands.
One surprise - the cuffs and collar have just enough stretch to stay put without feeling restrictive. My only complaint? I wish it came in more color combinations because now I want another one!
