After using the SunSun Aquarium Fish Food Feeder for a month, I've got some thoughts to share. First off, the timer function is a lifesaver when I'm away for weekends. It reliably dispenses food at set times, and my fish didn't go hungry during a 3-day trip.
However, getting the portion size right took some serious trial and error. The 'small feed' setting still drops way too much for my betta fish. I ended up manually adjusting the opening to just let through 1-2 pellets at a time - now it works perfectly for his tiny meals.
The blue plastic housing looks cheap but has held up well against aquarium humidity. What really surprised me was how quiet it is - no loud mechanical noises to scare my fish during feeding time.
That said, I completely understand the negative reviews about messes. If you don't position it just right over the water, food can end up stuck to the tank walls. It took me three attempts to find the perfect mounting spot where all food lands in the water.
For the price, it's decent if you're willing to put in some adjustment time. Not plug-and-play by any means, but once dialed in properly, it does its job well enough for short vacations.
