After using the meross Smart Power Strip for 3 months, I can confidently say it's transformed how I manage my home electronics. The ability to control four AC outlets and four USB ports individually via voice commands or scheduling is revolutionary for someone with multiple gadgets.
The setup process was mostly smooth - I used the meross app which worked flawlessly with my Google Home ecosystem. However, I did experience some frustration when trying to connect it to my 5GHz WiFi network before realizing it only supports 2.4GHz (a common complaint in reviews). Once connected though, the responsiveness has been impressive.
What really shines is the practical application. I have my entertainment center (TV, game console, soundbar) plugged into three outlets and smart lights in the fourth. The USB ports constantly charge our phones and tablets. Being able to turn off all vampire power drains with a simple "Hey Google, turn off entertainment center" saves both energy and money.
The build quality feels solid - the flame-retardant PC material gives me peace of mind about safety. The six-foot cord provides enough reach for most setups, though I wish it were slightly longer for more placement flexibility.
My biggest gripe? The HomeKit integration seems unnecessarily complicated based on other users' experiences (I avoided this by sticking with Google Assistant). Also, while the USB ports are convenient, they're group-controlled rather than individually addressable like the AC outlets.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely - if you're comfortable with some initial setup quirks and need centralized control of multiple devices. It's particularly great for entertainment centers or home offices where you want to eliminate standby power consumption without crawling behind furniture.
