Okay, so I got this STEM kit for my 9-year-old's birthday after seeing all the hype online. Let me tell you - it did NOT disappoint!
The box arrived packed with way more components than I expected. Wires, bulbs, magnets - it's like a mini science lab! My kid immediately wanted to build the electromagnetic crane (which actually works, by the way).
What surprised me most was how engaged he stayed. Normally his attention span is about as long as a TikTok video, but he spent HOURS working through different projects. The instruction manual is super clear with pictures for each step.
Warning though - some experiments definitely need adult supervision. We had a minor incident with the electroplating project that may have permanently stained our kitchen table (oops!). But hey, that's science!
The quality is decent for the price. Some plastic pieces feel a bit flimsy, but everything has held up through multiple experiments so far.
Biggest win? When my son explained how circuits work to ME at dinner last night. That alone was worth every penny.
Would I recommend? Absolutely! Just maybe keep some vinegar and baking soda handy for cleanup...
