Okay, so I finally caved and got the TP-Link EAP650 after my old router kept dropping connections during Zoom calls. First impression? This thing is THIN. Like, 'how-is-this-even-a-router' thin. Blends into my ceiling so well my mom thought I just stuck a smoke detector up there.
The setup wasn't totally plug-and-play though. Had to wrestle with some mounting holes that didn't line up (why??), and accidentally added a space to my WiFi password which took me an embarrassing hour to figure out. Pro tip: don't copy-paste passwords!
But once it was running? Game changer. My cat videos load instantly now (priorities). The Omada app is surprisingly slick - I can kick off my neighbor's devices when they try to mooch my WiFi (I see you, Steve). The range covers my whole place, even the weird corner where my old router gave up.
Only complaints: That blue LED is brighter than my future - wish it could dim more. And TP-Link's support took forever to respond when I had questions. But for the price and performance? Worth every penny of not having buffering during Netflix binges.
