Just finished watching The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and wow... I'm emotionally wrecked in the best way possible. This isn't your typical war movie - it's so much more profound.
The child actors were incredible! Bruno's innocence contrasted against the horrific backdrop of WWII creates such powerful storytelling. That ending... I won't spoil it but prepare tissues.
What struck me most was how the film shows evil through a child's naive perspective. The barbed wire fence becomes just a playground barrier, the concentration camp uniforms become 'pajamas'. Chilling yet brilliant.
The DVD quality was excellent (crisp picture, good subtitles) and arrived quickly. Though fair warning - this isn't a 'fun Friday night' movie. It'll stick with you for days after.
Would 100% recommend for anyone interested in historical dramas that make you think. Not an easy watch, but an important one.
