I recently used the Orange Europe SIM card during my 3-week trip across Spain and France, and here's my honest take.
The Good: The 25GB data in Spain was a game-changer! I streamed music on long train rides, navigated with Google Maps (lifesaver in Barcelona's tiny streets), and even video-called home from a park bench. Hotspot tethering worked perfectly for my laptop when hotel Wi-Fi was spotty.
Pro Tip: That plastic card holding the SIM? TREASURE IT LIKE GOLD. The printed PIN/PUK codes are crucial - I learned this the hard way when my phone rebooted mid-trip and demanded the PIN. Three wrong attempts would've bricked the SIM!
The Setup: It's not plug-and-play. I had to manually configure APN settings (instructions were clear though) and wait 48hrs after online activation. Saw some users complain about coverage - mine worked flawlessly in major cities but got patchy in rural Provence.
Watch Out: The Spanish number means all carrier texts are in Spanish (Google Lens translated them for me). Also, Switzerland isn't covered despite being in Europe - nearly got caught during my Zurich layover!
Final Verdict: For €20, having reliable data across borders was worth the setup hassle. Just activate early, keep that plastic card safe, and maybe download a translation app for those Spanish system texts.
