Okay, so I've been through SO MANY optical cables over the years - from the super cheap no-name ones to the 'premium' overpriced ones. This Amazon Basics version? Actually impressed me.
The gold-plated connectors feel sturdy (and they actually STAY plugged in, which is shockingly rare). The cable itself has this nice flexible rubber coating that doesn't kink up like some cheaper cables do.
Pro tip that half the negative reviews missed: THERE ARE PROTECTIVE CAPS ON THE ENDS YOU NEED TO REMOVE. Like seriously people, read the product description first.
Been using it for my soundbar setup for about 3 months now - zero issues with signal dropout or audio quality. For digital audio, it either works or it doesn't, and this definitely works.
Would I use this for a professional studio setup? Probably not. But for home theater/soundbar use at this price point? Absolute no-brainer purchase.
