Okay, so I finally caved and got this Alexa + smart bulb bundle after seeing it at a friend's place. Let me tell you - it's been a rollercoaster!

The good: The Echo Dot sounds surprisingly decent for its size. I use it daily for my morning news and bedtime podcasts. The bulb? Game changer! Being able to yell 'Alexa, make my room purple' never gets old. Movie nights with colored lighting? *chef's kiss*

The frustrating: Setup was NOT as easy as advertised. That 'just say discover my devices' line is total BS. Took me 45 minutes of cursing before the bulb finally connected. And don't get me started on the non-existent manual - had to Google everything like some tech support detective.

Once it works though? Magic. I've got routines set up so my lights gradually brighten in the morning (way better than an alarm) and turn sunset colors at night. The security feature where lights turn on/off randomly when I'm away is genius.

Wishlist: 1) Better instructions 2) Physical dimmer compatibility 3) Less finicky WiFi requirements

Verdict: 4/5 stars - amazing when it works, hair-pulling when it doesn't. Would buy again (but only if someone else sets it up for me!)
