Let me start by saying this backdrop is STUNNING. The colors pop, the coral reef design looks incredibly realistic, and it instantly transformed my boring aquarium into an underwater paradise. My neon tetras seem happier swimming in front of this vibrant scenery!
However - big however - the material threw me for a loop. I expected a vinyl sticker type background, but it's actually a soft polyester fabric. This makes installation trickier than anticipated. The included EVA tapes did hold it in place... for about three days before peeling off in my humid bathroom environment.
Here's my pro tip: Use aquarium-safe silicone instead of the tapes if you want this to stay put long-term. I learned this after my third re-taping attempt while watching my betta fish give me what I swear was a judgmental side-eye.
The fabric does have advantages though - it's easy to clean (just wipe with damp cloth) and won't bubble like vinyl sometimes does. But be warned: the colors appear slightly muted underwater compared to how vibrant they look out of the tank.
Would I recommend? Yes, but only if you're willing to put in some extra work for installation and don't mind that it's fabric rather than adhesive vinyl. It's gorgeous once properly secured!
