Okay, so I finally caved and got this HY450NTV projector after weeks of YouTube reviews. First impression? This little box is MAGIC.
The 0.6:1 throw ratio is insane - I'm getting a crisp 120" image from just 3 feet away! No more rearranging furniture when I want movie night. Just plop it on my bedside table and boom - instant theater.
700 ANSI lumens sounds modest on paper but HOLY COW the image holds up even with my dumb fairy lights on. Colors pop like I'm watching OLED (well, almost). That 10,000:1 contrast ratio ain't lying.
Biggest surprise? The built-in speakers. Was ready to hook up my soundbar but these dual 8W drivers actually deliver decent surround-ish sound. Not Dolby Atmos level but way better than my old projector's tinny audio.
Setup took maybe... 3 minutes? Auto keystone correction worked perfectly against my slightly textured wall. Electric focus via remote is buttery smooth - no more manual wheel nonsense.
Whale OS had me worried but Netflix/Prime/YouTube all work flawlessly. Couldn't find HBO Max though - emailed support and they actually responded with a workaround same day!
Only gripes: No lens cap (why??) and the fan gets audible during intense action scenes. But for the price? Absolute gamechanger for cozy movie nights.
