Okay, so I just finished 'We All Live Here' and wow, JoJo Moyes did it again! This book is like peeking into your neighbor's messy but oddly charming house through slightly parted curtains.
The characters? Flawed AF but so relatable. Lila's life is basically a dumpster fire (divorce, teens, money struggles), but the way Moyes writes it makes you laugh instead of cry. Mostly.
What I loved most was how real everyone felt. Like that nosy-but-sweet neighbor? We all know one. The chaotic family dinners? Been there. The school play disaster chapter had me snort-laughing on my commute - got some weird looks for that!
Fair warning: The first few chapters feel like being introduced to 20 people at a party where you remember no names. But stick with it! By the halfway point I was fully invested in this hot mess of a family.
The ending 'Postscript' was chef's kiss - like getting closure texts from all the characters months later. So satisfying!
Not gonna lie, when I turned the last page I actually missed these fictional people. That's how good the character writing is. Already planning to gift this to my sister (who's basically real-life Lila).
