Okay, so I finally caved and bought this Art Graf chalk set after seeing artists rave about it online. And wow – it did NOT disappoint!

The colors are crazy pigmented! The carbon black gives such deep, moody darks that make my sketches pop. The white is perfect for subtle highlights (though you gotta layer it thick if you want real opacity).

What I love most? You can use them dry for sharp lines or add water for dreamy washes. It’s like having charcoal AND watercolors in one chunky little square. So versatile!

The cork box is cute but mine arrived with one broken chalk (ugh shipping!). Still usable though – just crumbled a bit. Pro tip: maybe order from somewhere with better packaging.

Seriously though, if you like experimental drawing media, these are SO fun. My art students went nuts when I demo’d them! Already planning to buy more colors.
