I was excited to dive into 'The Effortless Zojirushi Bread Maker Cookbook,' expecting tailored recipes for my Zojirushi BB-PDC20. Instead, I found myself playing a guessing game with cycle names that don't match my machine's actual settings.
The book constantly references a 'basic cycle' that simply doesn't exist on my model. Trying to substitute cycles led to disaster - my 'quick white' cycle attempt at a sweet bread recipe produced a soggy, underbaked mess. It's frustrating when a supposedly specialized cookbook creates more confusion than clarity.
While the recipes sound delicious in theory, the reliance on volumetric measurements rather than weights makes consistent results nearly impossible for serious bakers. I did appreciate the book's beautiful presentation and variety of recipes, but these fundamental flaws made it ultimately unusable for me.
After multiple failed attempts and wasted ingredients, I've decided this cookbook simply wasn't tested with actual Zojirushi machines in mind. For beginners who don't mind experimenting, it might offer some inspiration, but experienced bakers will likely find it more frustrating than helpful.
