Okay, so I grabbed this book for my stage design course and... it's complicated. Some days it felt like my best friend, other days I wanted to throw it across the room.
The good? The first few chapters are GOLD. Like, actually helpful step-by-step guides that made Vectorworks less scary. The layout works surprisingly well for both in-person and online learning (shoutout to pandemic survival mode).
But here's the tea - the Kindle version is TRAGIC. Images either look like pixelated Minecraft blocks or postage stamps. How am I supposed to learn CAD from blurry thumbnails? Not cool.
The later chapters? Total mess. Instructions go from 'hold your hand' to 'figure it out yourself lol'. And don't get me started on the typos - when you're dealing with precise measurements, wrong numbers in Chapter 7 nearly made me rage-quit my project.
Final verdict? Useful but frustrating. If you can tolerate some chaos and double-check all the numbers, it'll get you through class. But maybe wait for a fixed 3rd edition?
