As a parent constantly on the hunt for jeans that actually fit my tall, skinny daughter, I was thrilled to discover these Amazon Essentials jeans. After testing multiple pairs through all sorts of kid activities - playground tumbles, art class messes, and endless laundry cycles - here's my real take.
The stretchy denim is game-changing. Unlike stiff kids' jeans that restrict movement, these move with my child during cartwheels and monkey bar sessions. The high waist stays put (no plumber's crack sightings!) while the skinny legs maintain their shape wash after wash.
For sizing: they run true to length but slightly small in the waist. My 52" tall, 60lb daughter fits perfectly in size 10 slim - finally! No more ridiculous waist-cinching or rolled-up hems. Though fair warning: the ankle openings are snug when putting them on.
The fabric quality surprised me. After six months of near-daily wear, they've held up better than premium brands costing twice as much. The color hasn't faded despite my questionable laundry habits (who separates kids' clothes anyway?).
Two minor gripes: the back pockets sit oddly large for little bottoms, and there's slight inconsistency between color variations. But at this price point? Absolute winners that have survived pizza stains, sidewalk chalk, and everything in between.
