Okay, so I took a gamble on these Tallew sound deadeners after my ’04 Civic started sounding like a tin can full of marbles. For under $100, I got 30 foam-aluminum sheets and this cute little roller that looks like a tiny pizza cutter.
The install was stupid easy – peel, stick, roll. Pro tip: WIPE SURFACES WITH ALCOHOL FIRST! My first attempt on the doors failed spectacularly when summer hit (RIP three sheets). After proper cleaning? Zero issues six months later.
Results? Night and day difference. Road noise dropped from ‘yelling over engine’ to ‘normal conversation’ levels after doing just the floors and trunk. Weird bonus: My bass doesn’t rattle license plates anymore. Still need to do the roof though – highway drives still get that hollow echo.
Downsides? The foam feels flimsier than premium brands (but at 1/3 the price?). Also, the adhesive smells like a chemical factory for about two weeks. Would I buy again? Already did – just ordered another set for my doors!
