I recently replaced my old door sensors with the Augiimor MC-33C magnetic reed switches, and here's the scoop.
First off, installation was a breeze. The screw terminals made wiring effortless—no fiddling with tiny connectors or soldering. I had all 10 sets up in under an hour, and they worked flawlessly right out of the gate. The NC (normally closed) function is perfect for my security setup: circuit closed when the door’s shut, open when it’s not. Simple and effective.
But here’s the catch: durability isn’t their strong suit. Within months, four of my sensors failed—two stopped conducting entirely (open circuit), while the other two got stuck in a closed state (short circuit). That’s a 40% failure rate in less than a year. For a security product, that’s concerning.
On the bright side, they’re dirt cheap and easy to replace. If you’re okay with swapping them out periodically, they’ll do the job. But if you need rock-solid reliability? Maybe look elsewhere.
