As a car enthusiast, I was excited to unbox this set of automotive-themed keychains. The details on each piece are impressive – the turbo looks legit enough to bolt onto an engine, and the brake disc even spins (though a bit stiffly).
The metal construction gives them a satisfying weight, though I quickly realized they'd weigh down my pockets if I carried more than one. The wheel rim keychain became an instant favorite – it's ridiculously oversized compared to my actual car keys, which somehow makes it more charming.
I did experience the same gear shifter issue others mentioned – mine arrived with the shift knob detached. A dab of superglue fixed it, but the shifting action remains disappointingly crunchy, nothing like the smooth throws of my manual transmission.
Where these really shine is as conversation starters. Every time I pull out my keys at car meets, someone asks about the miniature turbocharger dangling from my keyring. They make fantastic desk toys too – I catch myself absentmindedly spinning that brake disc during Zoom calls.
The set works best if you treat it as decorative rather than functional. While not perfect, at this price point they deliver decent value for fellow petrolheads who appreciate automotive details in unexpected places.
