Okay, so I just finished reading 'The Lord Gave the Word' and I have some mixed feelings about it.
First off, the content itself is actually pretty solid. If you're into biblical studies and want to understand how the text has been transmitted over time, this does a decent job. The author clearly knows their stuff.
BUT here's my issue - why is this being sold as a physical book when you can find most of this information online for free? I mean, come on publishers!
The writing style is academic but not too dry. I'd give it 3/5 stars because while informative, it feels kinda outdated in today's digital age where we can access similar research with a quick Google search.
Would I recommend? Only if you really prefer physical books over digital resources. Otherwise save your money and look up some scholarly articles instead.
