I've been using the LianShi Alarm Lock for a few months now, and it's definitely a mixed bag. The alarm is LOUD—like, 'wake up the whole neighborhood' loud—which is great when I lock my bike outside overnight. The 110dB siren makes me feel safer, and the anti-cut latch seems sturdy enough for casual theft attempts.
But here's the catch: water is this lock's kryptonite. The first time it got caught in heavy rain, the alarm muffled like someone stuffed a sock in it. After drying out, it worked again, but now I wrap it in a plastic bag during storms. Some reviews mention internal corrosion from long-term moisture exposure, so I'm extra cautious.
I love the dual-mode feature (silent mechanical lock vs alarm mode) and how sensitive the vibration detection is—even bumping my bike rack triggers warning beeps. The included 3 keys and spare batteries were a nice touch too. Just wish they'd waterproof the electronics properly instead of suggesting 'candle wax fixes' (seriously?).
For dry climates or indoor use? Solid choice. For rainy areas? Bring your DIY waterproofing skills.
