Okay, so I finally caved and bought the Epson ET-8500 after months of debating. Here’s my brutally honest take after 2 weeks of non-stop printing.
First off, the ink system is GENIUS. No more panic attacks when my printer screams 'low ink' after printing three photos. The bottles are foolproof—even I didn’t spill (shocking).
Photo quality? Chef’s kiss. Printed a sunset shot from my iPhone and my mom thought it was professional lab work. The colors pop like crazy on their premium paper.
BUT—why does the front tray feel like solving a Rubik’s cube? Took me 15 minutes to figure out how to load 4x6 paper properly. YouTube tutorials saved me.
WiFi setup was smoother than expected (unlike some horror stories I read). Though the touchscreen menus have more options than my smart TV—kinda overwhelming at first.
Biggest win? Printing 200 holiday cards cost me less than one fancy coffee. Cartridge-free life is the future, people.
Downside? This beast is HUGE. Had to rearrange my whole desk. And at $700, it better last me until retirement.
Verdict: If you print regularly (especially photos), it’s worth every penny. Just clear your schedule for setup day.
