Okay, so I've been using this CRAFTSMAN grinder for about a year now, and here's the real deal:
First off - battery life is MEH with small batteries. You'll need the big 4.0Ah one unless you enjoy charging every 5 minutes (seriously). But with the right battery? This thing chews through metal like it's butter.
The build quality surprised me - it's heavy in a good way, feels solid like old-school Craftsman tools should. That cast metal housing really does keep it from overheating during long jobs.
Changing discs is stupid easy - just pop the guard and go. Saves so much time compared to my old grinder that needed an Allen wrench.
Vibration control is decent - my hands aren't numb after using it, which is saying something for a $40 tool. Not the quietest but won't make your neighbors hate you either.
Downside? That stupid thread lock button needs some finesse to work right. Took me like 3 weeks to get the hang of it - super annoying at first but manageable now.
Would I buy again? For light/medium duty work absolutely. Daily professional use? Maybe go brushless. But for weekend warriors like me, this hits the sweet spot between price and performance.
