Let me start by saying the Allen Edmonds Brady Oxfords are undeniably handsome shoes. The cap-toe brogue design gives them a timeless, versatile look that works with both suits and smart casual outfits. I wore them to a wedding and received multiple compliments!
However, the break-in period was brutal. Like several reviewers mentioned, these run narrow. My first few wears left me with blisters despite wearing dress socks. After about 5 wears they finally started to conform to my feet, but that initial discomfort was significant.
The leather quality is good but not exceptional - I noticed some creasing after just a few wears that my more expensive dress shoes don't show as quickly. The soles also scuffed surprisingly fast during normal city walking.
Size is definitely tricky here. I normally wear a 10D but had to exchange for a 10.5E (wide) to get a comfortable fit. The generic box mine arrived in was disappointing for the price point - it lacked the premium presentation I expected from Allen Edmonds.
While they look great and eventually became comfortable, I'm not convinced these represent the best value in their price range. If you can find them on sale and don't mind the break-in period, they're decent - but at full price, there are better options available.
