After using this tubing for my homebrew setup and aquarium projects, I've got mixed feelings. The clarity is fantastic - watching liquid flow through is oddly satisfying, especially when monitoring my beer transfers. It cuts easily with scissors and connects securely to standard fittings.
But oh man, that initial chemical smell hits like a truck! Even after airing out for days as suggested, my garage still had that 'new plastic' aroma. While it faded eventually, I wouldn't trust this near food until thoroughly cleaned (I used a vinegar soak followed by baking soda rinse).
The kink resistance claims are... optimistic. When tightly coiled in shipping, permanent creases formed that affected water flow. Straightening required dunking in hot water - not ideal when you need tubing immediately. That said, once unkinked, it handled my 15PSI keg system without issues.
Where this tubing shines is visibility during liquid transfers. When flushing my hydroponic system or checking beer clarity during transfers, seeing what's moving through the line is invaluable. The walls are thinner than expected though - over-tightened clamps can deform it.
For the price, it's decent general-purpose tubing if you can overlook the odor break-in period and handle it gently to avoid kinks. Just don't expect premium performance - this is very much a 'you get what you pay for' situation.
