Okay, so I finally tried the Blue Lake & Pond Dye for my backyard pond, and here’s the real tea ☕️.
First off—WOW, that color is INTENSE. Like, 'Smurf village' intense. I used it on a small water feature first (big mistake) and it turned into a mini dark blue lagoon. Definitely need to dilute properly for smaller setups!
PROS:
- Fish are totally unbothered (my koi are thriving 💅)
- Color lasts FOREVER—weeks later and it’s still vibrant
- Easy to apply (but WEAR GLOVES unless you want Smurf hands for 24hrs)
CONS:
- Stains everything (RIP my favorite mixing bucket)
- Darker than expected—more 'midnight blue' than 'Caribbean waters'
- Measuring is crucial unless you want your pond looking like a melted blue crayon
Final verdict? 4/5 stars. It does EXACTLY what it promises, but manage your expectations color-wise. For large ponds? Chef’s kiss 👌. For fountains? Maybe try half the recommended dose first.
P.S. Shoutout to Rainy River’s customer service—they accidentally sent my order twice and let me keep both! Now THAT’S how you do business 🙌.
