Okay y'all, just finished The Second Chance Cowboy and I've got THOUGHTS. First off - that cover? Gorgeous. Makes me wanna wear cowboy boots and bake pies.
The good: Jacob coming back to Weeping Willow with his dad gave me ALL the feels. That man's loyalty? Chef's kiss. And Arizona's pie bus business idea? GENIUS. Why don't we all have mobile bakeries??
But here's my beef (pun intended): Arizona's whole 'I'll date your enemy to hide my noble secret' trope? Girl, NO. After five years you couldn't send one text explaining things? I nearly threw my Kindle when Jacob found out.
The baking scenes made me so hungry though - now I want peach cobbler at 2am. And that moment when Jacob helps Arizona with her food truck plans? SWOON. But then he goes all broody cowboy again and I wanted to shake him.
Final verdict: 4/5 stars because while the miscommunication trope drove me nuts, the small-town vibes and second-chance romance had me hooked. Also now I need to convert a school bus into a bakery... anyone know where to buy cheap buses?
