Let me start by saying this adapter has been a mixed bag for me. On one hand, it's incredibly convenient for mirroring my iPhone 14 Pro's screen to my living room TV. Watching vacation videos with family became so much better in 1080P - the clarity is impressive for such a small dongle.
However, I quickly discovered its limitations when trying to use it with my office projector during presentations. The graphics just wouldn't translate properly, leaving me scrambling for alternatives mid-meeting. It works flawlessly with my TV though - plug and play as advertised.
The charging port situation is annoying. I can't charge while mirroring, which means I have to make sure my phone is fully juiced before movie nights. And forget about Netflix nights - the HDCP protection blocks most streaming apps, which was disappointing.
Build quality feels decent but not premium. After continuous use for about 30 minutes, it does get noticeably warm - not hot enough to worry me, but enough to notice.
Would I recommend it? If you need basic screen mirroring for non-DRM content and understand its limitations, yes. But if you want seamless Apple-level performance across all apps and devices, you might want to splurge on the official Apple adapter.
