Let me start by saying this bookmark is gorgeous. The eucalyptus design is elegant, and the full-length size fits perfectly in standard novels. I've gotten multiple compliments when using it at coffee shops - it definitely elevates the reading experience.
The sturdy cardstock and protective packaging are premium touches. Mine arrived in individual sleeves with ziplock bags, which felt luxurious for a bookmark. Peter Pauper Press clearly pays attention to presentation.
However... that bead/tassel situation is problematic. Like several reviewers, I had the bead detach after minimal use. The cord attachment seems to be the Achilles' heel of an otherwise well-made product. I ended up removing mine completely.
At this price point ($8-10), I expected better durability. While beautiful, it's hard to justify when cheaper bookmarks last longer. That said, if you're buying for the aesthetic (or as gifts where they might not see heavy use), these do make lovely presents.
Pro tip: Check out the wider selection on Amazon compared to Barnes & Noble - you'll find more designs at better prices.
