I've been using the VONETS Dual Band WiFi Bridge for a few weeks now, and it's been a bit of a mixed bag. Let me break down my experience with this little device.
The setup process was frustrating - the connection kept dropping during configuration. You have to be quick to reconnect each time it fails. Once you get past that hurdle though, the basic setup works fine and you can adjust details afterward.
Don't believe the advertised 900Mbps speeds. In bridge mode, performance caps at 100Mbps. My tests showed mediocre data throughput even on what should be a high-performance WiFi connection.
Where this device shines is in situations where Powerline adapters fail and running Ethernet cables isn't practical. I'm using it to connect a switch in a hard-to-wire location, and for basic office PC and VoIP phone use, it gets the job done.
The built-in cooling fan runs constantly, which makes me wonder about long-term durability. I disabled the repeater function to avoid overloading the device with extra tasks.
Power options are flexible with USB or included DC adapter (though I didn't test the latter). Note that no USB power brick is included in the package.
Final verdict? It works for now in my specific use case, but I have doubts about its longevity. The plastic construction and constant fan operation make me question how long it will last under continuous use.
