Just finished Scott Turow's 'Presumed Guilty' and wow, what a ride! The way he weaves courtroom drama with deep character arcs is unmatched. Rusty Sabich is back, flawed yet brilliant as ever.
I loved how the story explores themes of justice, family loyalty, and racial tensions through Aaron's character. The trial scenes? Absolutely gripping - you can tell Turow's real-life legal experience shines through.
Some parts did feel a bit slow (especially Bea's backstory), but the payoff was worth it. That ending had me gasping! The moral dilemmas presented make you question the entire justice system.
As someone who's read all of Turow's work, I'd say this ranks among his best. The Kindle County universe feels so real - like returning to an old neighborhood where you know all the residents' secrets.
Minor quibble: Some dialogue felt off (Aaron's 'slangy' speech patterns didn't quite land for me), but overall this is premium legal thriller material. Already planning to reread it!
