I was really excited to get the CEAON Automatic Soap Dispenser, especially with its sleek silver design and promise of touchless convenience. The bionic body shape looked modern, and I thought it would blend perfectly with my kitchen decor.
Right out of the box, I noticed the plastic felt a bit cheaper than expected. The seam between the two halves was quite noticeable, which took away from the 'premium' look I was hoping for. Still, I set it up near my sink, eager to test its infrared sensor.
The sensor turned out to be way too sensitive! Just reaching for a towel or moving nearby would trigger a soap squirt. It became frustrating having to clean up accidental soap spills multiple times a day. The pump itself worked quickly (true to its 0.2s claim), but the small amount dispensed wasn't ideal for handwashing dishes.
After about a week, I noticed water spots forming on the surface that wouldn't wipe off - they made the dispenser look stained and old. By week two, it stopped working entirely. Fresh batteries didn't help. My thicker liquid soap might have contributed to the issue.
While I appreciate the IPX6 waterproof rating and safety features, this dispenser ultimately didn't meet my needs. If you have very thin soap and don't mind frequent accidental activations, it might work temporarily - but there are definitely more reliable options available.
