Okay, so I lost my original Midea remote (classic me) and grabbed this R51M/E replacement. First off – NO programming needed! Just popped in batteries and it worked instantly with my Midea EasyCool. Major win.

The buttons feel surprisingly sturdy? Like, not that cheap plasticky clickiness. It’s got all the OG functions – timer, temp adjust, even a built-in clock (which I’ll never use but hey).

BUT. Here’s the weird quirk: My AC display keeps flipping to Celsius when I use it?? Like bro, I live in Texas – we don’t do metric here. The temp+/- trick fixes it temporarily but resets every time. Annoying? Yes. Dealbreaker? Nah.

Side note: Saw some reviews saying it died after a week – mine’s been going strong for 3 months now. Maybe they got lemons?

TL;DR – Works perfectly as a basic replacement remote unless you’re obsessed with Fahrenheit displays. 4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
