I've been using these Safetect absorbent pads for a few weeks now, and they've completely changed how I handle spills in my garage. The polypropylene material feels surprisingly durable for something designed to soak up messes.
What really impressed me was how quickly they absorb oil - I spilled some transmission fluid while working on my truck, and the pad drank it up almost instantly. The mesh design seems to pull liquids in faster than regular shop towels. I keep a pack hanging right by my workbench now.
The adhesive hangers included are genius. I've got packs mounted in three different spots around my garage, plus one in the basement where I store my motorcycle that tends to mark its territory. Tearing off sheets is easy once you get the technique down (protip: use your thumb like you're tearing paper from a notepad).
They're not perfect though - for bigger leaks, you'll need to layer 2-3 pads. I tested with motor oil and found that heavier spills will soak through one layer. But at this price point, using multiple pads isn't a dealbreaker for me.
Beyond automotive uses, I've started keeping some in the kitchen too. When my deep fryer overflowed last week, these pads saved me from a huge cleanup headache. They handled the hot oil way better than paper towels would have.
The only real downside is the size - at 10x13 inches, they're great for small to medium spills but might not be ideal for massive leaks without overlapping multiple pads. Still, for everyday garage and workshop use, they're now an essential part of my toolkit.
